The Way of the Cross with meditations
The Way of the Cross is the devotion that follows Jesus from his condemnation to the tomb in fourteen stations. It is prayed most often on Fridays, especially through Lent, and on Good Friday in almost every Croatian parish. In church you walk from image to image; here you move from station to station on the screen.
Each station carries the versicle "We adore you, O Christ, and we bless you", a short meditation on the scene, a prayer, and the response "Have mercy on us, O Lord". The text is the traditional devotion prayed in parishes, not a modern paraphrase.
The stanzas of the Croatian Stabat Mater are placed as they are sung, one between stations, with the traditional refrain. Everything works offline, because the Way of the Cross is usually prayed walking, and there is rarely a signal inside a church.
