Saint of the day

Whose feast is today, and why

Every day has its saint. Holymeet shows you as soon as you open the app: who they were, what they patronise and a short invocation you can pray in half a minute — no searching through calendars, no long biography when there is no time for one.

Invocation to Saint Joseph

Saint Joseph, guardian of the Holy Family, guard our homes too and teach us quiet faithfulness in everyday work. Amen.

This is an example for 19 March. In the app the card sets itself to today's date.

The saint of the day and the calendar of saints

The question "which saint is today" comes up again and again — on the feast of a parish patron, before a name day, or simply out of curiosity. The saint of the day in Holymeet answers at once: the name, the feast, one sentence about the life and the list of patronages.

Patronages are not decoration. Saint Blaise is invoked for the throat, Saint Anthony when something is lost, Saint George against fear, Saint Anne for mothers. When you know whom to turn to for what, prayer stops being general.

The saint of the day sits beside the other spiritual tools: a Catholic calendar of feasts for the whole year, a prayer book of traditional Croatian prayers and a rosary that knows the mysteries of the day. All part of the same app, and all working offline.

Frequently asked

Which saint is today?

Holymeet shows it on the Explore screen — the card changes itself at midnight and shows the saint for the current date.

Does it cover every day of the year?

Yes. Days with a better-known saint carry a description, patronages and an invocation; the rest carry the name from the Catholic calendar.

Is there a prayer to that saint?

Yes, a short invocation you can pray in half a minute. Longer prayers are in the prayer book.

Does it cost anything?

No. The saint of the day is available to every member, and registration is free.
