Trips & gatherings

Faith is community, not just Sunday Mass

On Holymeet the trips are organised by members themselves. Post an idea — a hike, coffee after Mass, a trip to Medjugorje — people sign up, and on Saturday there are fifteen of you on the mountain.

Example15 going

Hiking up Sljeme

Sunday at 8am, after early Mass. Bring water and good shoes — prayer together at the top.

Example9 going

Pilgrimage to Marija Bistrica

Saturday, leaving Zagreb at 6am. Two seats left in the car, say the word if you need a ride.

These are invented examples. Real posts, sign-ups and comments open inside the app.

Catholic trips and gatherings

Living your faith is far easier with people around you who live it the same way. That is why Holymeet is more than a dating app: alongside the prayer wall, groups and the Catholic calendar, members organise trips, hikes, pilgrimages and plain get-togethers over coffee.

A trip is posted in a minute: a title, the date and time, the meeting point, a short description and a photo if you like. Others mark themselves as going or maybe, so the organiser always knows the headcount — and for bigger trips can pull out the full sign-up list.

Events appear across Croatia — Zagreb, Split, Rijeka, Osijek, Zadar — and Croatian Catholic missions abroad, in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, use the same place for their gatherings. Taking part is free.

For many this is also the most natural way to meet someone: it is easier to talk on the way up a hill than through messages. The friendships from a trip outlast the trip, and often turn into regular groups that go out together every month.

Frequently asked

Who can organise a trip?

Any Holymeet member can post one. The post goes through a short admin review before it becomes visible, to prevent misuse.

What does taking part cost?

Holymeet charges nothing to sign up. If the trip itself has a cost — tickets, transport, lodging — the organiser states it in the description and it is arranged directly.

Does everyone see my details when I sign up?

No. The name and contact you leave are visible only to the event organiser and an admin, for coordination. Other members only see that you are coming.

Can I come alone if I know nobody?

Yes, and that is the usual case. Most people arrive alone and meet the others along the way — that is what the trips are for.
