Pilgrimage companion

Nobody should stay home over transport

Pilgrimages are rarely missed for lack of will — more often for lack of company or a ride. The companion gathers upcoming pilgrimages and Catholic gatherings, shows who is going, and lets you ask for or offer a seat in a car.

Pilgrimages and Catholic gatherings

A pilgrimage is both a journey and a fellowship. In Croatia and nearby there are pilgrimages all year — Marija Bistrica, Trsat, Sinj, Aljmaš, Ludbreg, and across the border Medjugorje and the great youth gatherings. The companion collects them in one place, with the date, the location and a short description.

Alongside the official ones, every member can add their own: a parish walking pilgrimage, a one-day coach trip, a journey to a gathering. Every new entry is reviewed by an admin before it becomes visible.

The biggest obstacle is usually the ride. So every pilgrimage lets you request a seat in a car or offer the free seats in yours. The request reaches the driver as a notification, and they accept or decline — no public negotiation, no pressure.

For Croatian Catholics abroad the companion has one more role: connecting those travelling to the same destination from Germany, Austria or Switzerland, so the journey is shared in both cost and company.

Frequently asked

Can I add my parish's pilgrimage?

Yes. Enter the title, location, date and a short description; once an admin has reviewed it, the pilgrimage becomes visible to everyone.

How do ride requests work?

You can ask for a seat on any pilgrimage. The request reaches the driver who offered seats, and they accept or decline it.

Does Holymeet organise the pilgrimages?

No. Holymeet connects people going to the same pilgrimage; the pilgrimage itself is organised by a parish, a shrine or the member who added it.

Is my contact shown?

Not publicly. The arrangement happens inside the app, and you share contact details only if and when you choose to.
